Description

Course Introduction:

                • Familiarization with the contents and technique to conduct   EIA, EPA, PHSER, HAZOP,

                       HAZID, QRA review (formats, design basis, lateral thinking, risk assessment …etc.).

                • Promote and provide safety expertise in the development and presentation of safety

                       training material.  

                • Determine the presence of hazardous conditions.


Course Objectives:

                • Obtain good understanding of the concepts, the principles and the logical build-up

                   of risk management.

                • Look at risk management in a different and more structured way in the future.  

                • Formulate clear ideas and to conduct precise and more professional discussions on

                   risk management.

                • Obtain a better understanding for the design and engineering features of the Plants,

                   Facilities, Tools &Buildings.

                • Obtain a better understanding for some of the management decisions made to control

                   the risk to health, safety and environment.

QRA uses historical/statistical and failure data along with computer generated consequence modelling (Software) to generate ‘people’ risk data.

The semi-quantitative approach depends on a select team of experienced personnel who have access to accident, historical  and failure data to make “professional” probability decisions.
