Introduction:

  Gas engines became widely adopted and many thousands of sets are now installed worldwide. The development of gas turbine from the theoretical stage to its present worldwide adoption has three main inputs.

 

  The increase in the size and complexity of gas turbines has resulted in maintenance being accepted as an important mainstream function in such companies.


  This course provides the participants with the means to properly operate and support the gas turbines in a way based on the good acquaintance with the modern technologies applied in this field. Trouble-shooting & forecasting break downs are inclusive.


Course Main Goal:

  To enhance the participant's knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to give him some practical exposures to help maintain the gas turbines in good operational conditions and cope with the emergency cases of breakdown.


Course Objective:

               • Understand turbine operating principles.

               • Be familiar with practical gas turbine cycle.

               • Understand how operating factors affecting maintenance.

               • Understand maintenance practices & costs.

               • Be familiar with inspection procedures.

               • Be Familiar with pressure regulation.

               • Be familiar with liquid fuel control system.

               • Be familiar with co2 fire protection system.

               • Identify the importance of over-speed protection.

Training Methodology

  A highly interactive combination of lectures and discussion sessions will be managed to maximize the amount and quality of information and knowledge transfer. Questions, comments and personal experience from every participant will have a chance to be heard and discussed. Tests of multiple-choice types will be made available on a daily basis to examine the effectiveness of delivering the course.


  Case studies are encouraged to be brought by the participant. These case studies will be discussed thoroughly and will be shared by all participants.
